Safilo and Tommy Hilfiger: renewed the global eyewear license until 2025

    The Italian group Safilo, one of the world leaders in the eyewear universe, announced the early renewal, until December 31, 2025, of the worldwide license agreement for the design, development, production and distribution of frames collections eyewear and sunglasses for the US clothing and lifestyle brand Tommy Hilfiger.

    The early renewal of the agreement seals the success of a partnership that dates back to 2010 and is currently recording extraordinary performance, especially in some key markets in Europe, USA and Brazil“, stated Angelo Trocchia, Group Safilo┬áCEO

    We are very pleased to announce this renewal with Safilo,” added Tommy Hilfiger and PVH Europe CEO Daniel Grieder. “We share with Safilo the goal of constantly improving ourselves in terms of distinctive skills, and I am sure that there will be even more synergies between our two companies in the years to come“.

    In the same statement, Trocchia talked about the “great success” that the Tommy Hilfiger eyewear collections are experiencing, “thanks also to the extraordinary reach of the brand all over the world”, which in fact has experienced a period of great growth this year, with a turnover that will exceed 4 billion dollars at the end of 2018, making Hilfiger the largest single company of the PVH Corp group, ahead of Calvin Klein.

    Founded in 1878 and equipped with direct branches in 40 countries and a global network of more than 50 partners, Safilo distributes its achievements in approximately 100,000 points of sale worldwide. His portfolio includes the brands owned by Carrera, Polaroid, Smith, Safilo, Oxydo, and a long list of prestigious licensed brands, including Dior, Fendi, Banana Republic, Givenchy, Havaianas, Jimmy Choo, Moschino, Marc Jacobs, Max Mara, Saks Fifth Avenue or Swatch. Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, Safilo achieved net sales of 1,047 million euros in 2017, down 15.5% at constant exchange rates over the previous year.
