Safilo has appointed Victoria Hallberg as Chief Marketing Officer for North America, a newly created position. In the new role, the manager will oversee brand management, trade marketing and public relations, also collaborating with the group’s Extended Global Leadership Team.
Hallberg has more than 30 years of experience in the eyewear industry, particularly in sales, retail and marketing areas. Before joining Safilo, he held several roles in Marchon Eyewear, including Vice President of US Sales, Director of Brand Sales, Director of Special Projects and Sales Director.
“(Hallberg) is dynamic, highly motivated and has successfully launched many brands, implementing strategic and impactful business development programs in national retail chains,” said Steve Wright, President and CEO of Safilo North America. “It will help us in our next projects to maximize the way we address the market, sell, provide services and communicate with our customers“.
With the new appointment, Safilo certainly hopes to restructure its sales strategy in North America, after having failed the sales targets for 2018, despite a rise in revenues in the fourth quarter. The company has recently renewed its partnerships with some of the leading American brands, including Tommy Hilfiger and Levi Strauss.
