Safilo has repaid the “Equity Linked” bond loan of 150 million euros started in 2014.
The company – which produces eyewear for fashion brands such as Dior, Fendi, Max Mara, Moschino and Tommy Hilfiger – states in a note that the refinancing operation developed during 2018 is completed. It covers a total of 300 million euros, “between capital increase and new loan agreement expiring in 2023“.
At the beginning of the month Safilo, which has branches in 40 countries and distributes in around one hundred thousand retail outlets worldwide, presented quarterly results: revenues rose to 247.3 million euros (+ 3.4% and +0, 6% at constant exchange rates).
Meanwhile, it continues to acquire new licenses. Last week the Padua group announced a ten-year agreement for the production and distribution of prescription sunglasses for football icon David Beckham. The first David Beckham eyewear frames will be on the market in January 2020.
